Guide on OSINT Tools for Telegram Outreach
Serge Borisov
Introduction: OSINT as a Digital Search Tool
OSINT (open-source intelligence) is the collection and analysis of publicly available information: posts, metadata, registries, and other digital traces. OSINT does not involve illegally breaking into systems โ it only connects scattered data that is already publicly accessible.
OSINT tools automate this work. Where dozens of scripts and manual queries were once required, there are now unified, convenient solutions.
One of the most convenient formats has become Telegram bots: they work like lightweight API clients, query sources instantly, and require no installation.
In this guide we break down which OSINT bots are relevant in 2026 and how to use them to find Telegram accounts and phone numbers.
Disclaimer
This material is for informational purposes only and is not a guide to the illegal collection, purchase, or processing of personal data. Consider your local legislation. As a rule, the mass collection of personal data is prohibited.
OSINT relies on the right to freely search for open information and differs from doxxing โ the illegal disclosure of personal data without consent, often for the purpose of blackmail, pressure, or bypassing privacy.
Viewing open data is not a crime, but publishing it without consent is a violation of the law. Use any tools responsibly and reasonably.
Telegram OSINT Bots as of May 2026
Sherlock: each user is offered the option to create their own bot. Open-source project. One of the best options in terms of price/quality for use in the context of Telegram outreach.
Maigret OSINT Bot: @maigret_searchbot checks digital footprint, matches, and public profiles. The Bellingcat Toolkit describes Maigret as a tool for searching usernames across a large number of sites.
Quick OSINT Bot. Express check: quickly understand whether a digital footprint exists.
LeakCheck: Register and get access via link. | A tool more about checking leaks and digital hygiene. LeakCheck has an official website and a separate documentation page for its Telegram bot. |
Himera Search: A link to the current bot can be found via link. The site advertises search across people, vehicles, and businesses, but it is actually one of the most serious tools, with access to a very comprehensive database. Often overkill for outreach tasks.
Search Methodology
Suppose you have only fragmentary information: a person's first and last name, a link to their profile on one of the social networks, or simply their place of work and job title. The task is to reach their Telegram account (username) or mobile number.
Modern OSINT bots let you build a chain of connections that leads from these fragments to the identifier you want. Below is the step-by-step logic of such a search, with examples from the Sherlock bot.
1. Starting Point: First Name, Last Name, and Place of Work
The very first step is to turn text data into digital identifiers. Knowing the first name, last name, and company, we can use search engines to find the person's profile on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or other social networks. Public profiles often reveal unique usernames (for example, `jack_black`, `black1991`, `vanyapp`). Copy this handle โ it becomes a universal key for the search.
Some bots also support searching by incomplete data โ knowing, for example, only a person's first name, last name, and approximate age, you can find matching options and more complete data about them, and ultimately find exactly the person you need.
2. Search by Email Address
If in the previous step you managed to find a work or personal email (for example, in the "Contacts" section of a LinkedIn profile, in a forum signature, or through leaked databases), you can check it. Bots often show whether an email is linked to a Telegram account, and can reveal an associated phone number if it appears in open leaks. As a result, you get the data you were looking for.
3. Reverse Search: From Phone Number to Telegram
If the starting fragment turned out to be a phone number (for example, from a business card, an ad, or search results), the task is simplified. Most bots accept a number in international format and immediately return the linked Telegram account and other information. Along the way, you get other associated profiles.
Conclusion
Thus, with a minimum of starting data, over several iterations with OSINT bots you can go from fragmentary data to more complete data, with specific contacts and additional information.
We have said this before, but it is important to remember: most such tools sit in a gray zone. In some cases they work with open sources, in others with leaked databases and data of not entirely known origin. So they must be used ethically.
- Use carefully.
- Verify sources.
- Do not store more than you need.
